5:30 PMQuinlan Community Center, 10185 N Stelling Rd, Cupertino, CA 95014

Arthur and Lara Miya Milrod are all about family and community. They care deeply about ensuring that Jewish heritage and values are transmitted across generations, and shared joyfully with everyone they meet.

A native of San Francisco, Arthur is the son of Holocaust survivors, Jerry and Lydia Milrod. His parents met under extraordinary circumstances in Shanghai during the war years, after which they immigrated to California. Arthur is deeply proud to follow in their footsteps. His appreciation and dedication to family history and Torah values are reflected in the Milrod's home and in the raising of their children, Jerry Israel and Sara Fela. Arthur is beloved in the Am Echad community for his ready smile, kindness, humility and love of quirky puns.

Also a native Californian, Lara Miya is a hard-working mom, a steadfast friend to so many in the community, and a baalas chesed who does kindnesses both discreetly and generously. She regularly hosts stranded visitors, fills her Shabbos table with overflowing guests, visits elderly neighbors and even makes time to rescue all manners of wildlife. Lara Miya always has a kind eye, words of wisdom, and a comforting gesture for those in need.
